Studio manager Julian has heard a fair few outlandish requests during his time in the Photolink Studios, but the one from Manchester-based production company Ey-up Chuck takes some beating.
Tasked with shooting the music video for Suede’s latest single ‘Hit Me’, they booked into Studio Two on the proviso they could, in true rock ’n’ roll style, make a right old mess of it. Julian as ever didn’t bat an eyelid.
Cue art director Paul Kondras and his team recreating the modern art section of the Manchester Art Gallery (where the action begins in the video) with a Damian Hirst-style fish tank (filled with paint), oversized picture frames (filled with paint) and paint tins (yep, filled with paint). Two actors were then directed to run riot…
If you can’t see where this is going, you’d better check out the new Suede music video here. Keep an eye out for studio assistant Anne in a scene-stealing performance second from left, 3 mins and 36 secs in.
You can also follow Anne on Twitter for more studio-related goodness.
