Responsible to: Head of Photographic Operations

Line Manager: Head of Photographic Operations

External relationships: Clients, freelancers, suppliers if outsourcing is required.

Internal relationships: Studio team, Photographic Team, Digital Team, Client Services Team, Directors.

Hours: Mon – Fri 9am – 5:30pm (flexible hours required)

Main duties and responsibilities:
  • To shoot high-quality Product, still life and Homeware photography at volume for a wide range of clients.
  • To consistently produce high quality and on-brand imagery, taking ownership and responsibility for the quality of your output
  • To provide high-quality imagery for online editorial / campaign features
  • To research current styles and trends within e-commerce photography for development and growth of the team and business
  • To prepare your working set, checking that all equipment is fully functional and correctly maintained
  • Image selection, naming, cropping and processing of all images shot, maintaining file size and any relevant specifications
  • Communicating with the repro team to increase efficiency and maximum output when needed
  • To take an active interest in product knowledge & trade information for product photography
  • To have a strong knowledge of seasonal trends
  • To take responsibility for the studio workflow and support for the team when needed
  • Meet daily and weekly targets whilst maintaining high quality of photography and creative flair
  • Responsible for own time management and team work with photographer on set to ensure workload is complete to a high standard
  • Accurately following detailed client briefs and Style Guides to ensure the product is shot consistently
  • Communicate any issues to the Line Manager and seek advice and help to resolve them
  • Train and mentor members on all levels required
  • Strong confidence in directing models
  • Take an active interest in brand development for Fashion and Still Life
  • Take ownership of key accounts – working closely with both internal and external teams to ensure a smooth shoot
  • Work with Line Manager to continuously try and find ways to streamline the process and ensure quality is maintained
  • Lead weekly Photography meetings for the team
  • Video capture and editing training for the photography team when required
  • Busy workload – work at a positive pace to meet individual deadlines, as well as greater needs of the photographic team
  • Work with the Line Manager to devise direction for the photography team
  • Support in producing photography hand books for development for the team
  • Support in the Art Director for the Art direction of the e-commerce imagery
  • Testing for new business opportunities
  • Support in the development of an e-commerce Style Guide for use as a reference and training tool

Knowledge and Skills required:

4 + years experience as a Still life, product and homeware photography

Must have a Homeware portfolio

Strong portfolio of both womenswear, menswear, and still life e-commerce photography

Portfolio that demonstrates the applied techniques of on-figure fashion photography and stills product photography (composition, lighting, capture, and processing), as well as pre-production and post-production steps

Good knowledge of common digital capture platforms, various lighting environments, photography equipment and best practices/conventions for set safety

Capture one knowledge essential

Video capture and editing experience is a must.

Must be able to demonstrate experience of working directly with, Creative Directors and clients

Excellent organisational and time management skills

Proven experience photography in a high volume, demanding e-commerce environment

Have and keep a firm understanding of current and upcoming trends and how they relate to our client needs

Ability to work with and develop studio systems and processes

A good understanding of what it takes to maintain and develop a productive studio

Must be comfortable working towards defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) from clients

Must be able to quickly understand and work with client and team changes within a studio.
