Styling Manager

We are a highly successful integrated creative content agency, working with over 160 retailers from startups to some of the biggest brands and names in the world of fashion & home.

Our team of 150 based across Manchester, London & Mumbai have the capability, creativity and commercialism to provide creative solutions for our clients. We build relationships, create content and deliver results that matter.

Our services include branding, web design, digital marketing, creative, photography, production and video all of which are wrapped with end-to-end account management and logistics production – put simply we plan, create, deliver and optimise content for our clients.

Working with:

  • Internal –Creative, Photography, Video, Post Production, Client Services, Production, Finance and Commercial teams.
  • External- Suppliers, locations and agencies where relevant.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage Styling department alongside styling over a variety of sets
  • Styling mannequins, flats, accessories, still life, model shoots and creative campaigns
  • Working across a range of accounts on client-facing shoots
  • Responsible for own time management and teamwork with photographer on set to ensure workload is complete to a high standard
  • Accurately following detailed client briefs and Style Guides to ensure the product is shot consistently
  • Train styling team
  • Ensure teams are keeping sets and styling area well maintained and tidy throughout the shoot day and at the end of each day
  • Work with photographer on set to direct model and select the best imagery
  • Take an active interest in brand development and undertake research and create mood boards when necessary
  • Take ownership of key accounts – working closely with both internal and external teams to ensure a smooth shoot day
  • Work with Heads of departments to continuously try and find ways to streamline processes and ensure quality is maintained
  • Lead monthly styling meetings for the team
  • Busy workload – work at a positive pace to meet individual deadlines, as well as greater needs of the photographic team
  • Work with the creative director to devise direction for styling team
  • Produce styling trend packs for development for the team and style guides for internal and external teams when necessary
  • Support the Art Director on set
  • Continuously evaluate direction of styling and carry out testing to ensure our business is the leader for styling
  • Responsible for all styling equipment and working within a budget
  • Working closely with production to ensure stylists are assigned to the appropriate jobs
  • Using workbook, approving stylist’s holidays, sick days and ensuring timesheets are completed daily
  • Carrying out regular 1:1s with the team
  • Carry out performance reviews at least once a year with the styling team
  • Responsible for recruiting new members of the team

Knowledge and Skills required:

  • Experience as a senior stylist in a photographic styling team
  • Have an active sensibility, interest and understanding of fashion trends and brand awareness and understanding how to translate these into brand appropriate mood boards and concepts
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating skills across editorial, fashion, ecommerce and still life
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience of working directly with Creative Director and clients
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Proven experience styling in a high volume, demanding e-commerce environment
  • A firm understanding of current and upcoming trends and how they relate to our client needs
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Docs/indesign/Capture 1
  • Ability to work with and develop studio systems and processes
  • Comfortable working towards defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) from clients
  • Be a strong team player who is eager to learn and can grasp information quickly
  • A good understanding of what it takes to maintain and develop the most productive client relationships
