It’s a warm Photolink welcome to senior stylist Fay Bruno who started with us earlier this week.
Here Fay explains what she’ll be doing at our Manchester studios and about her passion for fashion.
Fay: “I’ll focus primarily on one client which means I’ll have creative freedom so that the products look appealing both on the models and to the customer when they view them online.
Previously, a lot of my work hasn’t involved accessories and the shots have been cropped so I’m really looking forward to this new challenge.
Since I was a little girl I’ve always gone through my wardrobe and tried to mix and match my items. Even today, friends and family still ask my opinion about certain combinations.
Unfortunately, some people don’t understand exactly what a stylist does but I knew straight away even before I started studying it at University. I love the idea of creating outfits and making people like products that I have pieced together. It’s exciting and really rewarding.
I think that because I have a genuine interest in photography too, it helps. Manchester is still very new for me (having only just moved here) so I regularly take myself off and explore (with my camera of course!).
Ultimately though I’m a huge fan of all things fashion. I try to stay on top of the blogs, magazine articles and follow as many catwalk events as I possibly can.
I don’t see fashion and being a stylist as a job more of a way to express myself creatively through products and clothing. I firmly believe that the majority of what I do is all a matter of opinion anyway.”
