Photolink recently shot and produced this rather surreal image for the Sky Sports magazine to help mark the 20th anniversary of Sky Sports. The image features Alf – Sky’s trusty Steadicam operator – who’s regularly running up and down the touchline during Premiership matches capturing the pacey footage you see on match days.
As well as three Alfs, the shot features the three different cameras Sky Sports uses to capture match footage – including a new 3D camera (centre). The image was taken pitch side at Old Trafford during the set up for the Manchester derby the following day, so Alf was well and truly in his element(s)!
Senior Photolink photographer Eddie Kay shot the image and was assisted by Gareth Wilmott who, being a lifelong United fan, was understandably overjoyed to be on the job. Post production maestro John James also played his part in proceedings doing a fantastic job of making three Alfs appear seamlessly in the same image. Back of the net!
