The Way Ahead is a charitable project based in the North West which aims to help many young people whose lives have been changed drastically by ABI – Acquired Brain Injury. ABI is an incredibly debilitating condition which is either caused by an accident, infection or tumor involving the brain. Sufferers from this condition are often left with serious physical and emotional difficulties which can affect every aspect of their lives. As such the sufferers are left needing the help of health professionals to aid in their rehabilitation… this is where The Way Ahead comes in!
Set up by Dr Eddy Estlin, a Macmillan Consultant in Pediatric Oncology based at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, The Way Ahead’s main aim is to develop a system which will have a positive effect on the standard of care for young people worldwide. Due to the charity’s North West roots and it’s positive aim, Photolink Creative Group were more than happy to be involved with this project!
To support this project Photolink Creative Group donated time and resource to creating a brochure which outlines the lives of three ABI sufferers – Dale, Finlay and Charlotte all of whom come from different walks of life. The main aim of the brochure was to give readers an insight into the difficulties these children face on a daily basis, along with how The Way Ahead can help these children, and thousands like them, cope with the long term effects of ABI.
The entire creative concept from photography, copy to design was created at Photolink HQ! The images were shot by Darren Taylor and Tom Law, the design of the brochure was created by Mark Henshaw and Dan Watson, the content was produced by our excellent team of copy writers and the project was overseen by Sally Thomas and John Whalley – Photolink Creative Group’s Creative Director.
