Creating a new retail experience for MCFC’s CityStore

On Sunday 22nd May 2011, Manchester City secured their place in the Champions League group stage for the first time in their history. It also marked a new era for the club’s stadium store which was to undergo a dramatic transformation implemented by their new retail partner Kitbag – Europe’s leading online sports retailer.

As Kitbag’s official creative partner, Photolink created a suite of design elements that would feature prominently throughout the new £1 million CityStore at The City of Manchester Stadium. Powerful point of sale and contemporary digital screen graphics were implemented creating a new, exciting, flexible and visual retail experience befitting the world’s most ambitious football club – the innovative screens showcasing Manchester City and corporate messages can be exchanged by the club at the touch of a button.

And just like the city centre store on Market Street, the newly refurbished CityStore hosts a wide range of kits, accessories and gifts, along with a state-of-the-art shirt personalisation centre: The Lab. In addition, the City Stadium Store also welcomes the arrival of Virtual City, a green screen where fans can have their picture taken with the team.

For a limited time only the City Stadium Store is also playing host to the FA Cup – as if you need any further excuse to head down to the new sleek, slick City Stadium Store and encounter a new kind of retail experience.
