Our team in the Photolink Studios have seen their fair share of sports personalities over the last few months, but last week definitely took the year’s medal for breadth of sporting talent.
World champion darts supremo Adrian Lewis turned target for sports photographer Gary Prior. Matija Nastastic was on club duty for Man City, while Marouane Fellaini (Everton) was on a mission for global sports brand Warrior.
But it was the arrival of local boxing legend Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton on Friday that topped off the week with a touch of world class. Undefeated in 45 out of 48 professional bouts, with a string of ABA, WBU, IBF, WBA titles to his name, Ricky is a true sporting superstar and uuuuuuundisputed world champion – and the perfect portrait subject.
Renowned for his thrilling, all-action fighting style, Ricky was an industrious, energetic and entertaining fighter in the ring, and didn’t fail to live up to his reputation as a properly decent bloke outside it. Consummate professional, hard as nails fighter, local boy done good. We salute you, Ricky Hatton, and can’t wait to see the images when they go live.
