A company with undeniable heritage, Candle-lite is America’s original candle company, crafting candles in Ohio’s heartland for over 175 years. As a supplier to retail giants like Walmart, the brand knows well how to deliver fragrance to millions of homes. They came to us to help strengthen their presence online, bringing the brand into the modern day.

the challenge

With brand awareness and prominent sales placement offline, Candle-Lite’s market position in the North American market is well established. However, a complicated digital profile with no clear strategy online meant that the story of the brand was not being told well online. The website needed to convey the brand in a modern way, while simultaneously providing future retailers with key detail about products. Like many long-established brands, finding a way to tell their story online in an engaging and unique way was the key challenge, one which seventy7 is always ready to take on.

Working closely with the team at CandleLite, we created concepts to push the brand into a new dynamic online presence. The website was designed to create a dynamic, storytelling experience around products, while always retaining the crucial level of information needed to target business users. The history section in particular was focused on telling a lineal story about the brand that went beyond mere copy on a corporate page. We used the latest front end development techniques to really bring the story to life.
